agro-town

An agro-town is an agglomeration located in a rural environment with a population sometimes several thousands-strong but whose workforce's main occupation is agriculture. The agro-town also lacks the administrative, commercial and industrial functions which are usually common in the centers of such size.

1. The government is investing in agro-towns to improve the livelihoods of farmers and boost local economies.
